One of the better local store picks I found last year was a Redemption high rye bourbon, and I bought this bottle specifically to figure out what was going on with this juice. Nose is sugar, apple, tangerine. Honey. Bottle is incredibly sweet, but it works. There’s powdered sugar, tart apple, orange. Maple syrup. Hint of something bitter, possibly cedar, but the sweeter notes win for me. Very good. Finish is cinnamon, more sugar, bit of caramel. Mint. The apple carries through, and I just realized this finish is the taste of the Dutch apple pie from Burger King. I mean that as a good thing. I can’t overstate how much this bottle punches above its weight class. Phenomenal value, phenomenal flavor. A new permanent shelf member for me.

Late bottle pour, neat, sat covered 15 minutes. Nose: leather and vanilla, as all bourbons have, baking spices like cloves and nutmeg. Later I picked up berries, slightly. Palette: spicy and sweet, vanilla, caramel, I think I pulled mint. Finish: ginger, pepper, cloves. Never had a dram nose bourbon and finish rye before, excellent. Will say the rye pepper finish tamed as the bottle aged.
Very nice! Nose is underwhelming- buttery and caramel. Taste is bourbon sweet with a sharp rye spice, but not overly complex. Really good for the price, but would be better if aged longer! Bought at Belmont Bev on SR23 in Granger. **EDIT** cork was awful and each time the bottle was re-corked portions of it broke off and would enter the whiskey. Made it unattractive and less consumable***
Apples and cream on the nose. Rye and strong spice on first sip. Great balance of full taste and linger. Oak and spice with hints of dark chocolate complete the taste. Ice completes the experience by bringing the spice to the nasal passage and pulling the apple notes back in. This is definitely one for your shelf at home.
A delicate High Rye Bourbon from Indiana that has an aromatic birth with notes of grains, wood, fruits, herbs & spices; while a rich life led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of oak, rye spice, light mint, cocoa & cinnamon. January / May 2017 / September 2018 / August 2022
Rich nose of cinnamon, vanilla, oak, anise, clove, mint, shoe leather, & oil, a bold smooth spicy body, cinnamon, oak, vanilla, anise, mint, nicely blended, silky smooth velvety mouthfeel, w/ a smooth spicy cinnamon vanilla & oak finish.
