Redwood Empire 14 Year Single Barrel Haystack Needle Straight Bourbon

Daveco single barrel. 10265C winter 2022. 110 proof. Red mahogany color. A rich grainy nose, not unlike maple syrup cheerios. Hints of fig and rosemary, slight hint of cherry. Palette: sweet up front. Fades quickly to a grainy mid palette, with more dark fruits and herbal notes. Finish is long and spicy, going in and out with sweet fruits from the port barrels. Some French toast and dill linger. Hints of almonds. This would probably be great without the port finishing where the port adds that darker fruit dimension. Great pour.

Getting a ton of milk chocolate and strawberries on the nose. Getting a rye spice on the palate. Decent finish. Very nice overall. Beat out Knob 12 blind easily

Established and secure. Not trying too hard to be something it’s not. A thoroughly bourbony bourbon. Not unlike GTS
