Fascinated... Solid J. Rieger KC Whiskey backbone with the Oloroso Bota finishing forward. Bitter walnut notes and oiliness are apparent which makes for an interesting dram. Cocktails are interesting in that this fails in a Boulevardier, but shines in a Godfather.
I must have had a bad bottle. I tried this three different times and had two other people try it. We all had the same conclusion. This is wretched. I literally just poured $100 down the drain. Not sure what happened, as Rieger whiskeys are usually pretty good.
Don’t know if I got a bad bottle or what but tastes like my grandmas musty attic.
Very smooth. Smell is amazing, a hint of wine flavor.
