So this is tequila? Yum!! Sweet, maple syrup, fragrant, that oily sent you get from squeezing citrus fruit peel, that light taste you get from cream-brûlé topping, vegetal notes swirling around, bringing back memories from my parents' vegetable patch. I know very little about tequila, but this is a great place to start!
About this bottle
Released in the summer of 2014, Roca, Spanish for "rock", refers to the two-ton stone (called a "tahona") that is used to crush the cooked agaves. This more traditional method is not often used as the more mechanized roller mills shred the agave fibers much faster and cheaper. But bitter flavors are imparted to the final product. The juice and fibers from the tahona pressing are included in the fermentation and the distillation. The Silver is bottled at 90 proof.

Vanilla, herbal, nose with citrus, earthy and mineral notes. Lots of vegetal agave on the palate; also rocky minerals and vanilla. Soft peppery finish. Very fresh, very young characteristics, dominated by the agave and the rock that crushed it.
A brilliant blanco. So much more character then regular Patron Silver which while decent and smooth is almost devoid of complexity. Not so with this one. Highly recommend.
More expensive than the the Silver from the core line but smooth taste and higher alc percentage.
A little bite to it for sure. Good flavor, but a little rough going down
