New Orleans rum producer Roulaison Distilling launched at the end of 2016—Roulaison is the French-Creole term used for the sugar cane harvest. The distillery focuses on a pre-industrial style of rum, using pot stills and small batches. They also use 100% Louisiana molasses. Amer is a high-proof herbal rum liqueur, billed as more of a counterpoint to spiced rums, made with two dozen herbs and raw Louisiana sugar.
