There's a really sweet, caramel, peanut butter smell that reminds me a bit of Van Meer's Imitation Chocolate mixed with Butterfingers. The palate is similarly sweet with a bit of peppery cinnamon spice. There's a really buttery flavor - kind of like movie theater popcorn - with some peanut butter to it. It's also surprisingly floral. It doesn't taste bad, but it is weird. I'm not sure what the situation for drinking this is, but it's surprisingly not bad as an interesting liqueur. If you expect a strong peanut butter flavor though, this isn't really that. I'm not sure I want to go as high as a 12 for this, but it is kind of fun and tasty, so it's not below a 9. Choosing among this, Ram's Point, and 99 Peanut Butter has been difficult, but at the end of it, I think I need to give the win to Sheep Dog. It doesn't really remind me of peanut butter, but it actually tastes OK. Golly, I feel like a judge on a cooking program saying "well, you made the dish most like phad Thai, but her spaghetti Bolognese was edible, so I'm giving her the win". This is a weird category. It's been interesting to try, but I don't think I'll be coming back to it (beyond finishing these darned 50 ml bottles).

Nose: Corn syrup, some over-roasted peanuts and some sort of alcohol. Flavour: Corn syrup, a hint of mild chili, something vaguely like peanuts, but not quite. Rough alcohol. Finish: Medium. Sweet and slightly bitter simultaneously. Fades out to corn syrup on the aftertaste. This is not whiskey, not even a flavoured whiskey. It contains a lot of sugar and is more accurately designated as a liqueur. It probably does contain whiskey, but remember that there is no minimum time period for maturation of American whiskey, so the spirit in this may be little more than new-make. As for the profile, it smells slightly more like peanut butter than it tastes, which is not saying much, and neither the nose nor the palate is anything to remember with joy. Overall, it gave me the impression of suggesting peanut butter rather than actually delivering that aroma and flavor. This is something I would like to shoot at parties, preferably with a projectile weapon of some sort. “Inferior” : 65/100 (1.5 stars)
First off, I do not like flavored whiskey! This was a buy for the wife and I happened to try it. With that being said… Nose: An overpowering stench of artificial peanut butter and cheap American whiskey. Taste: Super sweet, high fructose corn syrup sweet. Hits hard with artificial butterscotch and peanut butter flavor, nut much else. Finish: Again, overwhelming sweetness with a lingering artificial peanut butter flavor that coats the mouth in an unpleasant fashion. Overall, I did not like this whiskey. I reiterate, I am biased. I can see where they are going with it though. It is meant to overpower the alcohol burn and taste. It’s clearly a party drink and mixer.
This is hands down the worst thing I have ever drank. The peanut butter smell was so strong, as to be unpleasant. It reminded me of walking past a Yankee Candle shop. The whiskey itself is thick and syrupy. This is the imitation maple syrup equivalent of peanut butter flavor. The finish is bitter and distracting from any pleasantries that this may have. Adding water did nothing to improve the taste. All in all, it was a waste of a complimentary drink.
This is fairly solid. Decent complexity with interesting floral and buttery notes. There is a bit much of an alcohol flavor, but not too much. It's a bit peppery but mostly smooth. I'm not loving it and it doesn't really taste quite like peanut butter, but I do get that peanut butter vibe and it tastes fine enough so I'm not opposed to drinking it. This would be my go-to among the peanut butter whiskeys I e tried so far.
Sampled in a blind taste comparison against two other peanut butter whiskeys. Butterscotch nose, thick and syrupy caramel taste with no peanut butter vibes whatsoever. Sickeningly sweet and neither whiskey nor peanut butter, just an all around biff.
