Skatter Brain Peanut Butter Whiskey

Nose - french vanilla, instant coffee, peanut shell, chocolate malt, mild ethanol burn. Taste - french vanilla, cinnamon, mocha, coffee, peanut butter powder, nutmeg, salted caramel, mild to moderate alcohol bite, finishing medium length and syrupy with mocha, baking spice, french vanilla flavors. This tastes more like a mocha coffee liqueur than a peanut butter flavored whiskey. It’s extremely cloying and syrupy and tastes very similar to one of those sickeningly sweet Frappuccino monstrosities from Starbucks. I fear if I take another sip, I’ll immediately be stricken with a terrible headache, or Diabetes. This is best drizzled over ice cream, blended into a milkshake, or thrown in the trash. Obviously, this wasn’t created for sipping neat and it shows.

A rich, Flavored Canadian Whisky by Universal Brands in Princeton, Minnesota from an extra aged Canadian whisky base. Natural flavors & caramel color are added before bottling at 70 proof. It has an aromatic birth with notes of nuts & cream; while a rich & oily life added notes of peanut butter, butterscotch, & toast; that leads to a thick & candied death of medium length. Overwhelmingly sugary, fake pb flavor. Label designed to look too similar to Screwball (the actual pb Whiskey I'd been looking for. Yes, I'd been duped--that's on me). Got back and tasted it, did not taste right to me and that's when I'd noticed that everything pointed to it being a cheaper, lower quality knock-off.

Sampled in a blind taste comparison against two other peanut butter whiskeys. Vanilla and bourbon on the nose with a sweet and slightly vanilla taste. There's a peanut butter-adjacent finish here and it's not as vile as the Sheep Dog but this is still pretty bad.

Too syrupy for my taste. Very rich. I prefer Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey
