About this bottle

Sông Cái Distillery was founded in 2018 and is the first gin distillery in Vietnam. The distiller & founder, Daniel Nguyen, is a Vietnamese-American who works with farmers and foragers in Northern Vietnam to source the botanicals. For this dry gin, 16 botanicals were used like jungle pepper, black cardamom, green turmeric, licorice, and heirloom pomelo. Launched in the US in winter 2021, Sông Cái translates to "Mother River".

Some flavors that are familiar, others that I had a harder time putting a finger on, but overall very well balanced and, as the best gins are, extremely evocative of a particular place. My only complaint is that they don’t yet distribute to our area!

Wow. This is good. Probably one of the strongest taste of all the gins Ive tasted in Vietnam. But again very balanced and full of aroma. Im impressed.

Interesting product and distillery story, but I am personally not a fan of the spice forward flavor profile.
