Sonoma distilling co cherrywood smoked straight rye

There is spice straight off the bat, menthol, licorice and a sweet maple/cherry flavor. the cherrywood smoke is evident but not as intense as most smokier scotches. The finish is hot, cinnamon spicy and long. With a small ice cube the sweetness opens up but the smoke is then more noticeable. The smoke itself tastes much like cherrywood but has a char and slight bitterness to it. I love anything Smokey so seeing this bottle I just had to see what it’s about. It’s nothing too out of this world but is a fun addition to my collection.

So this is the first time i used funky in the tasting notes! LOL I just cannot nail down the flavors i am experiencing in words or than to say it is a little woody, a little dry, but seems to have this really pleasing yet unidentifiable flavor on the backend… might have to get a little more of this to break it down.

Nose: cherry, wheat, brine Palatte: cherry, herbal, tea, hint of orange zest Finish: herbal, slightly bitter

Sweet and spicy, warming and woody gives me a tingle on my tongue
