No way do you want to sip this neat, it's definitely its best on heavy rocks, which is the way I usually sip bourbon. The first taste, even on heavy rocks, immediately after pouring, is WOW, way too strong. It's similar to flavored moonshine. But, given a couple of minutes, it becomes very tasty, while not too diluted. I think they balanced the flavor with the alcohol content perfectly so it gets progressively tamer flavor and alcohol content the longer you leave it. That does make it perfect for sharing with people like my wife who maybe enjoy liquors the most at 30% alcohol or less. So, she would love it about 5 minutes after pouring over heavy rocks. It's a sliding scale depending on your taste and preference. It's a good base, but just pumpkin flavor. So, if you want to make pumpkin pie flavor, add some cream and spices. It's "spicy" by itself from the alcohol, but there's no actual pie flavor unless you add the spices. So, if you let it set for a couple of minutes on ice, it's a little sweet, but not too much. As a long-time baker of things like pumpkin pies, I'd have no problem guessing it's pumpkin flavored. As-is, you could probably mistake it for sweet potato flavor, which is similar to sweetened pumpkin.

Well, I pulled the trigger to try it so you all would not have to. Luckily, I got it to share, so I feel less bad about this $25 purchase. Here goes: I don't know how to rate this. Do I compare it to whiskey? Do I compare it to flavored whiskey, of which I know nothing? This tastes like liquid candy, and is very much like a liquor version of Pumking beer. Just, too sweet. This tastes like how I would imagine the spiced rum version of corn whiskey would be. Sweet, almost cloying, low ABV, low burn, the spices are the main flavor component of this pour, with a medium long finish of cinnamon candy. Do with that as you will.

It is sweet, but has good flavor. It needs to be in heavy ice to dilute the sweetness. Will be good for desserts, but not something you want to sip neat. Might be a good idea to mix with another lower end bourbon as well.

Sweet for sure.. tastes like pumpkin pie.. less pumpkin, more pie.. spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, vanilla, tiny bit of caramel, excellent fall sipper, little to no alcohol burn

Quite sugary sweet, not very pleasant by itself. When used to spike Pumking Beer it blends beautifully. @ NYC in 2020
