Is it a whiskey?  Is it a scorchingly high octane wine?  Best served in a brandy snifter,  a cordial glass, or a coffee cup?  The oddity and universality is its likeableness.  Not convinced it is good, or even a good idea, but it is fun and it is different.  Blackberry jam and black licorice on the nose with just a bit of funkiness of what I can only say is that over ripe fruit just before it is declared as decay!   The taste is thick, jammy, unctious, and boozy. Reminds me of my grandmother's cure for the common cold-  warm blackberry brandy, a touch of black tea, a cinnamon stick, and a lemon wedge.  THIS will be my cure for the common cold!  I am sipping this warm with a cinnamon stick by a wonderful fire on a fall night in my patio room watching the NLCS. This will never be a centerpiece of my whiskey collection, but rather a guilty departure.  Sometimes it is the afterthought bottles, the ones nobody really wants that brings surprising joy on a brisk fall night

Pretty simply, I’ve only mixed this with lemonade just like the Crown Blackberry and Jack Daniels’s Blackberry. I’d never drink this straight. But if I had to rate the three mixed with lemonade, it would be: 1. Jack Blackberry 2. Starlight Blackberry 3. Crown Blackberry I was hoping I’d prefer this over the Jack Blackberry especially at a higher proof, but I didn’t. Your mileage may vary. Still worth trying.

VERY surprised by this whiskey! Not your grandfather's Blackberry Brandy. Real whiskey aged in blackberry wine barrel for a year and then loaded up with home grown blackberries and aged a few weeks longer. Great color and berry perfume. Solid whiskey and blackberry on the palate with only a touch of sweet. 100% legit. 100% delicious. 94 points. Great Value!

Nose is slightly medicinal. Obviously blackberry, but also fresh bread, and raisins. Sweet and tart. Very thick mouth feel. Reminds me of a port more than a whiskey. Sligh heat and oak on the finish gives a hint that it’s indeed whiskey. It would be a good substitute for port as a dessert spirit in small quantities.

Blackberry wine and black liquorice on the nose. Sweet blackberry wine on the front with nice aged whiskey on the back. Interesting combination and a good starter for those coming over from wine.

Initially hot on the tongue but goes away quickly. Overall fantastic blackberry notes and smooth. No delayed whiskey burn, fantastic with soda water and a lime.
