A rich, Single Grain Scotch Whisky released by the Angus Dundee Company in Lowlands, Scotland distilled in a column still, aged for 12 years in American oak barrels. It has an aromatic birth with notes of fruits, flowers, grain, wood & spices; while a balanced life adds notes of vanilla cream, citrus, raisin & honey; that leads to a zesty death of medium length with notes of orange rind & oak. Vanilla, grain alcohol and syrupy stone fruit on the nose, sweet stone fruit and vanilla on the palate, there's also a bitter note, a little spicy heat and a waxy, slightly viscous mouth feel, the finish is short with vanilla, slight baking spices and some graininess. I wanted to like this better than I did.
Yellow gold colour. N:19, T:18, F:19, B:19. Pleasant aromas of fruit with predominant orange. Smooth taste, sometimes somewhat sweetish. Nothing complex or extraordinary, but quite nice for a single grain.
There’s a note here that’s more present than most other scotches— can’t put my finger on it. Slightly more peated than my baseline. Likeable.
