The nose is candied apples and hint of smoke; its so awesoem because it tastes exactly like Yamazaki 12, but sweeter and has definite, balanced, light smokiness and peat towards the end, otherwise red apple, a little foral note towards the front; low, slow hesr; thick texture; long, easy finish of dried fruit and light smoke
About this bottle
The Essence of Suntory series launched in Japan on February 27th, 2018. Each of the three bottles in the series features modern, artistic label designs and unique flavor profiles, very different to anything Suntory has released to date. The Yamazaki Peated Malt is unusual, as the distillery has rarely released peated expressions throughout the years. Distilled in 2005, it was bottled in 2018 after 12 years of maturation. Availability limited to Japan and online retailer, Dekanta.
