The smell is very subtle, the taste is sweet, with "oriental" spicy notes, which fits ginseng, guarana and bergamot mentioned in reciepe. By itself, it very unconfronting, smooth, there is very little of that "juniper" gin notes. Mixed with good tonic, it sadly lack the kick, covers the quinine taste. So it's not cucumber style but lime/lemon style one. Little lime brings it up, the acidity starts the freshness and brings out the quinine bitterness. But the result is still very neutral G&T and lime. I will definetely try Negroni too, but I already know the neutral-to-sweet profile will be bit of an issue to deal with.
