Best whisly I've ever tasted. I bought a bottle with some friends 5 years ago to celebrate special ocassions. It cost 300€. What a surprise when in our final drink, 4 years after, the same bottle was worth 3x more. Since then, I've tried wonderful drams but none close to this jewel. Worth every penny.
About this bottle
The Macallan Fine Oak Series involves aging in a combination of ex-sherry (American & European Oak) and ex-bourbon (American oak). The Fine Oak series was first introduced in 2004; prior to that, the single malt whisky releases had been aged exclusively in sherry casks.

I'm terrible at describing flavors, but I would say it tasted like an aged library book or library, but not in a bad way — aged, smooth, with character and depth — almost like when you breath in the leather cover of a well used and well loved journal — with a subtle bit of smokiness.
The Macallan Fine Oak 25 is rich, but contrary to what many say, it is more smokey than sweet. It gives a very deep and warm feeling.

Worth every penny. There just is no substitute for Macallan.
