For me, this is the whisky that started the journey of becoming a Three Ships fan. I’m not a huge fan of the 5 and 10 but their work with limited editions has been excellent. This bourbon cask is an absolute winner. A more complex taste and stronger presence.
About this bottle
First released in 2005, this blended whisky is proudly made in South Africa. The James Sedgwick Distillery produces both single grain and single malt whiskies, column and copper pot-distilled respectively. After a 3 year maturation period in white American oak barrels, the malt and grain whiskies are blended together and married for 6 months in first-fill bourbon casks sourced from Kentucky.
