Nose: Pure whisky, vanilla, raspberry. Palate: Honey, vanilla, strawberry shortcake. Finish: Honey lingers and dissolves to slight smokiness. Verdict: Despite the rating, I’ve enjoyed taking my time through this bottle. The port finish so subtle that it doesn’t overpower & keeps the vanilla/bourbon characteristics that I love. Likely wouldn’t buy it again but am not disappointed that I did.
About this bottle
Similar to Glenmorangie's cask finished line, this is essentially a 10 Year ex-bourbon aged Tomintoul that has been finished for about two years in a ex-Port wine pipe. Tomintoul is located on the Glenlivet Estate on the site of an illegal still that once ran on the property. Bottled at 46% ABV, this malt is non-chill filtered, and contains no added coloring.

21okt2017 geproefd bij Bert, de tweede die beter de eerste had kunnen zijn. Nu een beetje minder goed te beoordelen maar ik verwacht dattie best goed is op zichzelf.
