Nose: ripe orchard fruits, honey, a little butteriness, sugary rum finish, hint of a cinnamon-like spice, slightest vegetal note, fairly simple and straight forward, very little depth. Taste: fruity, rum, herbal vegetal note that transitions into a peppery spice, some slight alcohol burn (I suspect it’s a young scotch in age), finish is medium in length. For a budget friendly rum finished scotch, it’s not bad. Better than some other budget entries.

Trader Joe's Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Rum Cask Finish has a clear, amber appearance. The aroma is of vanilla and white bread crust. The flavor is of those elements, with some sugar cream. There is some bite with it. It has a medium body and a dry finish. RJT
Sweet molasses on the nose that has a mild burn. The molasses is forward and backed by a very light burn and almost nutty flavor that lingers on the palate. Brief mild Smokey finish that disappears almost as soon as it appears .
Sweet syrupy aroma. Definitely the rum. Has a well balanced flavor with sugar cane sweetness. Medium body medium tail, really not bad. A good budget choice if you like rum casked scotches.
Eh? Lot of alcohol burn on the nose and on the palette. Slightly sweet from the rum, and there’s a touch of smoke on the finish that doesn’t last too long
This is an awesome daily, especially for the price.
