My go to mixer and a very solid choice for cocktails. Makes the best bourbon and cokes or whiskey sour in my opinion. Some of my favorite cocktails. I will drink it neat on occasion but it's a little harsh and there are better choices for that. So for the price it's a solid mixer that is always available in my area. It normally comes in a plastic bottle but you can class it up some as they offer a glass 750ml as well. So I display it with pride in my collection. And I'm a little partial as it was my only bourbon I kept on hand for years until I started to explore others due to the recent bourbon craze.

Nose - strong ethanol, corn sweetness, vanilla, light caramel barrel notes. Taste - sweet corn, honey, vanilla, strong young ethanol flavor, finishing thin and quick with dry alcohol notes. Slightly better than I expected, but still pretty rough. Maybe a mixer, but you can get much better whiskies than this for under $20 a bottle.

It does have some of the butter and corn flavoring of bourbon along with a bite of ethanol, but it mostly tastes and feels like bourbon flavored water. Definitely not for neat drinking, and there are much better offerings for mixers at just a few dollars more.

Mini bottle from VA ABC poured neat into a Glencairn at home. Nose is ethanol, corn, and peanut shells. Hint of caramel and oak. Taste is harsh, plastic, and burnt. Pretty weak, bitter, thin, unpleasant. Nope. 6/8/19

An excellent 2nd or 3rd choice from the cubbord, after the initial top-shelf try. Also, great on the golf course. Enjoy as a slow sipper, while you think about where all those Kentucky folks came from… yep, Virginia….

My first bourbon. Not the best, but not the worst. It is better than some much more expensive pours. Actually, at the price point, it is drinkable. Better as a mixer than it is neat.
