Nose - vanilla, a little caramel, spicy, medium alocohol, smells sweet, but not too much. Palate - clean burn, definitely taste the rye spiciness deep flavor, no fall slices Finish - a little medicinal, smooth, medicinal lingering feel to the mouth Definitely better as you drink it
About this bottle
The brand calls this their "triple-terroir expression," utilizing rye grain, water, and oak locally sourced from their grain-to-glass Vermont farm distillery that opened in 2015. Farmstock Crop No. 001 is a rye whiskey comprised of 20% WhistlePig's triple-terroir whiskey that aged in Vermont oak for at least 1 year, 49% 5-year rye whisky from Alberta Distillers that also aged in Vermont oak, and 31% 12-year rye from MGP in Indiana. All were blended together and bottled at 43% ABV.

Don’t agree with Winos... 3 stars is as high as I can go for the price. Stereo typical overly expensive Canadian whiskey. Nothing special other than it’s a rye base with additives versus a normal Canadian whiskey with additives. Not bad... just not great. Change my mind.
This is a decent rye, has some spice—but not worth the price. I have a dozen ryes in the cabinet that outshine this bottle, all of which were half the cost. If you need a bottle of Whistlepig in your cabinet, shop up market and get the Old World Cask (or Boss Hog).
I really enjoyed the WP 10yr and 12yr Old world cask. I expected a similar quality from the farmstock but was sorely disappointed. Tasted extremely young, and I can name 10 ryes under $40 that are better. Literally my worst whiskey purchase of the year.
I’m partial to rye and I’m loving this combo with a nice monte. The oak comes through, some pine, citrus and spice with a surprisingly sweet and smooth finish. Best enjoyed watching the sun set over the ocean after a nice session.
Nose is real sweet, with creamy vanilla and wheat, bit of orange zest. Some oak. Taste is creamy vanilla, cinnamon, rye, pepper, lotttsss of grassy notes. Long grassy finish. Very smooth for a rye. This is actually batch no.3
