Colour: Amber Aroma: Nutty, definitely hazelnut, but there is a curious metallic quality that reminded me of machine oil. Palate: Not overly sweet and there is a strong hazelnut flavor, but like the nose it is somehow industrial and there is an oily, hot, diesel-like quality to the palate. This was one of four samples in a distillery-issued pack of Wild liqueurs and spirits. I was not highly impressed with any of them and this was one of my least favourite. It is definitely nutty but for me it was simplistic and harsh. The distillery website notes list nuances of chocolate, caramel and dried fruit but I did not notice any of that. Wild are clearly trying to emulate Frangelico but this liqueur is much inferior to the Italian classic. “Inferior” : 65/100 (1.5 stars)
