The color is dark, a very deep, reddish gold that leaves a heavy rim of oil around the glass. The nose is full of oak backed up by vanilla, a touch of molasses, caramel and the least bit of cherry. The palate is rich and offers generous creamy oak with a nice burst of rye spiciness. It is very simple and doesn’t quite reach the corners of the mouth, but what it does do is incredible. The finish is medium and leaves the mouth full of oak with a tingling spiciness leaving behind an earthy rye.
