I love Wild Turkey in all its expressions. I'm getting down to the end of this single-barrel bottle so I thought I'd write my third note on it, which is consistent with the previous two (7/7/22; 10/20/22). Clear light mahogany color. Orange peel, apple pie, some vanilla, sweet tea, honey, and red hots. Pleasant oaky vanilla mid-palate, along with some tobacco and leather notes. The 101 proof makes an appearance, but very smooth and well integrated. There is the dustiness that I picked up in my last review, but in this tasting it leads more toward char. The overall impression is a sweet, easy-to-drink bourbon with a nice balance of WT's rye spiciness. Bottled 4/30/2020 from barrel 1448, stored in Warehouse A, on rick 37. 101 proof. N.B.: All spirits tasted neat in a Glencairn glass.

Barrel no 2085, warehouse ty-g, rick 41. Color is a very pale amber gold. Rests for a few in glencairn. A swish shows its got some thickness. Nose is buttery sweet cinnamon and maybe a smell like dusty wood chippings. Great start. Taste is buttery toffee, creamy vanilla, and dry WT fruit. Finish is solid but not long; very little burn but a nice warm hug. As a Wild Turkey fan, it checks all the boxes and is worth the $25ish jump from the WT 101, which is still a favorite daily drinker. Probably not quite as good as the RR Single Barrel or Rare Breed, but its just splitting hairs at this point. My only regret is that I took so long to try this. Cheers!

Barrel 2414 Warehouse A, Rick 29 Bottled on 6-24-21 Copper color. The nose has a lot of vanilla, honey, ground cinnamon, allspice, and hints of leather and spearmint. Warm, full-bodied mouthfeel. The palate is a cinnamon bomb with notes of ground cinnamon and warm cinnamon rolls with vanilla icing, along with toasted walnuts, ground nutmeg, and a little caramel and tannic oak. The finish is short-to-medium and warm, led by the baking spices, with vanilla, brown sugar and faint roasted peanuts in the background.

Nose: limestone, pear, baking spice, cigar box Taste: all the same tastes as on the nose but intense - wham! - wave of heat, cherry & limestone with subtle wood & a bit chemical/medicine on the finish. With a cube: nicer fruit flavors softened up at the start, finish more cherry and less harsh Will need to try this alongside the Rare Breed, but i dont remember the intense aftertastes on that one and might enjoy that a bit better

Nose: A good amount of oak Palate: Strong baking spices including cinnamon and peoper with a small hint of vanilla Finish: On my first sip the spice transitioned into a vanilla sweetness that floated up my palate. Well, it’s a Wild Turkey product! Bottled at 101 proof, this single barrel was a bit thin but a serviceable sipper. However it doesn’t offer a lot more to make me come back to it again and again.

(Remembering all Single Barrel bourbon offerings can vary) …Personally I am gettling loads of tobacco throughout the entire palate and sweet cherrywood oak on the finish! That is almost all I get outside of the quenessiential notes of vanilla and caramel. I trully wish I had a cigar to pair with this becuase that pairing would be magical! Not a bad bourbon at all.
