I hear from time to time that Willett is a Love it or Hate it distillery. I clearly fall in the Love camp. Every time I try their Family Estate Bourbons I think their beautiful. This one is no exception. Husk Barrel Pick and had both the 5 year barrel and 5 year 6 month barrel. (both said to be Wheaters). Phenomenal. Cherry, Cinnamon on both Aroma & palate. The perfect back pepper. Smells and tastes like a beautiful cinnamon roll. Toasted warming goodness. I think it's time for me to start chasing some purple foil neck bottles.

being familiar with the willett ryes, the taste is somewhat similar, which is a good thing. without the licorice/rye notes in the flavor, the initial strong palate sweetness covers the mouth. the 120+ proof doesn't get in the way of the great finish.
Real good. Just like my pap tought me to be. Add a drop of high quality h20 and watch eem brighten up like sweatin blueberry on the farm.
Bartender recommended. Thought it was solid. Need to put willett on my radar and find some bottles.
Cinnamon and honey aroma, nice heat to the taste but still smooth, really wonderful.
Stays on the pallet for a while after finishing the sip, warm hug all the way down.
