NOSE: Dense dried dark fruit, musty-funky-grapey almost rum-like notes, brown sugar, toffee, oak, vanilla custard, candied citrus and bits of baking spice. It would be easy to tell someone this was a rum just from the smell, there is such a weird funky note to I immediately thought of the Foursquare 2013 Habitation Velier. PALATE: Sticky dark fruit, oak, vanilla custard, candied citrus, herbal spice, chocolate licorice, charred nuts and a touch of musty funk. While the nose might fool some folks, the palate of the Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition, likely, would not. This is a dark, and slightly funky, fruity bourbon profile. FINISH: Med-long -> Dried dark fruit, oak, cocoa, copper and char fade out dryly to a chalky note.
Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition
About this bottle
Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition begins with standard Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon as its base. Master distiller Chris Morris sourced French oak ex-cognac XO barrels which were used to finish the maturation process. They spent 3 years in these cognac barrels before the bourbon was bottled at 90.4 proof. The crystal decanter the bourbon is housed in was crafted by luxury French crystal company Baccarat which was founded in 1764. Limited availability begins in October 2020.

Tasted at Woodford Distillery during my tour. Didn’t have time to fully review it, but how often do you get to taste a $2000 bottle of bourbon. Definitely had the cognac throughout. Enjoyable experience.
Similar to the Sonoma-Cutrer wine cask finish in the Master's Collection from 2007. NOT worth the price for the juice but the Baccarat Crystal decanter is gorgeous and worth some $$$
Delicate. Lots of cognac on the nose. Oak. Kinda sweet, mildly tannic. Some wood / vanilla taste Bananas, pears Mushy banana finish?
$2,200 bottle. Was not expecting that. Really great bourbon on the tour, but would def not pay the price tag
