Appearance: Light, like green tea. Pretty weak legs Nose: Sweet rye, a bit of oak, honey, green apple Palate: No surprises. Crisp and bright, with a great blend of sweet and spice. Syrupy and coats the mouth well Finish: This was a surprise. Long, lingering finish. The sweetness gives way to peppery rye spice and stick around for ages and would make you think its more than 90 proof. Delightful. Notes: This was a great surprise. I was suckered in by their new branding and commercials on Spotify. I admit it. But finding 100% Colorado sourced ingredients is not common in CO's craft distilling scene, so I figured why not? I'm still relatively new to ryes, but I will be buying this again. If I had one minor gripe, it's the screw top. It's heavy and well made, but I just think a cork would be nicer.

This bottle was return fire from a friend to whom I had previously sent on of my favorites. He knows my love of rye’s. The nose was fruity with a banana front followed by a pleasant vanilla. The first taste was very balanced spicy (think fall spices), fruity, and vanilla. With a few drops of water, it got even better with nutmeg, caramel, herbs(like a dill), and oak. I REALLY like this whiskey. It is probably my new favorite.
Another Colorado only pour I sampled this week during a business trip. This one was really good...for a mashbill of 100% rye, I guess I expected something really spicy and hot, maybe like biting directly into a rye seed itself. I was wrong...incredibly floral and light, almost as if there was wheat in there. For $6/pour, highly recommended! I’ll be looking for a bottle during my next visit here
Eye:Honey Nose:light hint of caramel Palate:Cinnamon, clove, caramel I find this rye to be light on the scents and flavors I find enjoyable in rye whiskey. This one comes across a bot young, a bit astringent. The hint of baking spice and caramel is far too fleeting. The finish leaves you with a hint of bitterness that isn’t too pleasant. I recommend trying this in a bar before buying a bottle.
Nose: orange, leather, black pepper. Palate: strong black pepper with a long finish that fades into cinnamon. Adding water pulled togehter the flavors in the nose and brought forth a nice pickle brine taste. The palate and finish were a little muted, but I got the brine there too. Overall: not terribly complex, but wonderful nonetheless!
Really enjoyed this. Was suggested by my favorite bartender and the suggestion was spot on. Bright Orange/copper in color. Nose of cedar, lemon, touch of mint and Rye notes. Flavor also a bit floral, citrus (Lemon) with black pepper towards finish. Touch oily which is nice. Vibrant but rounded and not gritty. Like it a lot
