Bright brass with a hint of caramel in color. Nose is light caramel, toasted white bread, creamed corn, barn funk and lemon cake with vanilla frosting. Soft on the mouth, its warmth emerges slowly and accelerates the spice notes behind it. The faint hint of dry roasted peanuts and their shells. Its very complex. An herbal quality comes through: rosemary wood, perhaps? A hint of maltiness sneaks through too. It's a rich sweet woodiness and earthy forest floor thing. Moderate length finish. This may be my favorite Beam product to date!
Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Tokaji Casks (2023 Limited Edition)
About this bottle
Like the previous limited edition bottlings in this annual series, Limestone Branch Distillery's Master Distiller Steve Beam selected the three bourbons blended for this bottling. For this 2023 release, Beam chose Kentucky straight bourbons which were aged for 7, 13, and 16 years. After blending he then finished its maturation in Tokaji wine casks (a dessert wine from Northern Hungary made with white wine grapes). It's bottled at 50.5% ABV. Just 10,000 cases (3-pack) will be available for purchase beginning August 2023. (SRP $99.99)

Nose: confection sugar hits immediately then a grainy scent and marshmallow. Something suggests orange. Palette: orange ip front with maple syrup, then fades to toast with sweet almonds. There is a bite to it, unlike previous releases. A russels yeast signature finds the finish with graham cracker and baking spices. The sweetness of the barrel finish covers up any influence from the oak of tye 16 yr in there. Sadly.
Nose - Definitely a herbal scent. Some deep cherry lingers heavy. Has sweet corn upfront along with those herbal notes. Palate - That tokaji wood is prominent, not oaky but woody. Light butter, vanilla, and light mint. Finsih - More of the palate but with added cinnamon
Very smooth fruit at the beginning, ends with a nice kick
4.45 peanut very present. Mild char. Very enjoyable
Can definitely taste tokaji cadk finish
