Ypióca was founded in 1843 and is one of the oldest cachaça brands in Brazil. The company prides itself in environmental sustainability - putting emphasis on soil preservation for their sugarcane plantations and turning sugarcane waste into cardboard boxes. Ouro is Portuguese for "gold," the color of this cachaça after spending 2 years in balsam wood. Like their Prata, the bottle is woven in straw made from Brazilian carnaúba palm.

Really good cachaca, with strongs and delicates but prouds cannes ans cereals aromas, tempered with the ageing in barrels. Excellent for caïpirinhas ans very recommended at this price. Excellente cachaca, aux arômes puissants mais délicats de canne à sucre et de céréales grillées. Le tout tempéré par le vieillissement en fût. Excellent pour des caïpirinhas, et très recommandée, surtout à ce prix.
Slightly smokey start, somewhat reminiscent of a Mescal. Strong alcohol finish.
