About this bottle

The last bottling in the Yula trilogy, this peated blended malt from Islay and the Islands is named after the Norse goddess Yula, said to have created the island of Islay. This 22 year-old cask-strength whisky is non chill-filtered and has no coloring added. Limited to 900 bottles and bottled at 51.2% ABV. Available in select retailers beginning September 2017.

A rich, final release in Douglas Laing's Yula series is here! Following on from the Yula 20-Year-Old and Yula 21-Year-Old, this is the Yula 22-Year-Old blended malt, made with peated whiskies from Islay and the Islands. It has a maritime birth with notes of oceanic salt, ozone clean zephyr, tobacco & leather; while a complex life adds notes of sweet peat, pepper, coal dust, oak wood smoke & chocolatey sweetness; that led to a long & balanced death with notes of barley, warm spices, tar & soot. March / June 2018 / August 2022
