A unique flavored vodka, Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka actually plays quite well in a lot of cocktails and can add a nice twist to the normal unflavored vodkas without being too sweet or artificial tasting. The nose reminds me of a farm, with hay being the most pronounced. The palate features coconut, lavender, vanilla and a bit of sweetness. The finish leans into the sweetness, although not too much and there is no burn. For a flavored vodka, this is one of the top one's that I have tried. It is enjoyable neat, as well as in cocktails and I think it's easy to recommend this as a bar staple.
About this bottle
This Polish rye-based vodka is flavored with grass from the Białowieża Forest in northeastern Poland, one of the last and largest primeval forests in the world. It is here where Polish bison roam among the grass. The grass is harvested each June or July, dried, and cut to size. The grass is bundled into small batches and the vodka is pressed through capturing its flavor. A single blade of grass is inserted into each bottle. Note: In the US, the vodka sold as "Zu Vodka" is artificially flavored as coumarin found in the original is not permitted.

You had me at “vodka that tastes like something other than ethanol”. The flavor and nose are quite distinct… sweet, grassy, green, but also suprisingly… cakey? I’m a bit put off by the suggestion that the version we can get in the US might be artificially-flavored, but I need to research that a bit before I let that accusaton sway my opinion. Based purely on what I can taste and smell, this is a rare thing indeed: a vodka I’d actually seek out and try to keep around.
Extravagant aromatic nose of honey, flowers, cinnamon, a robust bouquet of what i presume is the bison grass, so unique of a nose for a vodka, a rich but mellow body, sweet, honey, cinnamon spice , bison grass, sweet & smooth, so flavorful, a velvety silky smooth mouthfeel, w/ a honey sweet cinnamon spicy flowery finish. A truly unique & delicious vodka. Tasted chilled in a sampling glass.
Nunca he sido muy fan del Vodka pero gracias a su infusión de pasto de bisonte tiene un perfil muy herbal y aromático. Tiene mucho potencial para hacer cocteles por ser sabroso y sutil.
it's cool, just not so much my thing. it has a very distinct herbal taste to it (heresy if you have it with anything other than apple juice), which might be what puts me off of it.
This is delightful. Wonderfully sweet, but in a very organic, natural feeling way. Very easy for sipping, and it would be a shame to mix with this I think. Up there with Haku.
