Ingredients

4 fresh Basil leaves
1 1/2 oz Absinthe
1 oz Elderflower liqueur
1 oz Lime juice
1/4 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
Top up with Ginger ale

How to make

Serve in a collins glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COLLINS GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of green grapes.
  3. 3 Garnish with grapes rested on rim.

Method

  1. 4 MUDDLE basil in base of shaker.
  2. 5 Add other ingredients and SHAKE with ice.
  3. 6 FINE STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  4. 7 TOP with ginger ale.

History

Basil and elderflower are subdued, with absinthe providing a predominant, though not domineering, flavour.
