1/6 oz Orange Curaçao
1 dash Orange bitters

Serve in a coupe glass

- 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
- 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

- 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
- 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

- 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

This cocktail was first documented in Albert Stevens Crockett's 1934 publication, Old Waldorf Bar Days. AMPERSAND Two dashes Orange Bitters One-third Brandy One-third Tom Gin One-third Italian Vermouth Stir; strain; two dashes of Curaçao on top It is possible the name refers to the ampersand symbol '&' used in Martini & Rossi, which may have been the vermouth brand used in the original recipe.
