History
A genever-based Wet Martini with an orange influence from triple sec.
This drink originated in 2015, a creation of Lee Clarke following a trip with friends to the Bols Museum in Amsterdam. His initial recipe, a simple take on the Vodka Martini with equal parts vodka, dry vermouth, and triple sec, became the signature cocktail of their visit. Considering the Amsterdam connection, a variation was developed using genever instead of vodka, enhanced with a dash of orange bitters. As further recognition, in 2023, the Amsterdam was featured on BBC television's Nigella's Amsterdam Christmas Special.
