History

Pleasantly strong and evokes a very dry, lightly smoked Rob Roy.

Kola Adejumo, a bartender based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, created this drink in 2017. It was for the inaugural Glassology competition, an event Adejumo went on to win. The beverage's name draws inspiration from the American thriller film Memento. This 2000 movie is based on the 2001 short story "Memento Mori," authored by Jonathan Nolan. The film's protagonist, Leonard Shelby, played by Guy Pearce, experiences anterograde amnesia, a condition that impairs his ability to form new memories and causes short-term memory loss. Shelby's narrative revolves around his quest to find his wife's murderer while contending with his memory affliction.
