Ingredients
6 fresh Mint leaves
6 fresh Basil leaves
2 oz Light white rum
1 oz Lime juice
1/4 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
How to make
Serve in a collins glass
Prepare
- 1 Select and pre-chill a COLLINS GLASS.
- 2 Prepare garnish of mint sprigs.
Method
- 3 Gently MUDDLE mint in base of shaker (just to bruise).
- 4 ADD rum, sugar and lime juice.
- 5 Half fill glass with crushed ice and CHURN (stir) with bar spoon.
- 6 Add more crushed ice and CHURN some more.
Garnish
- 7 Garnish with mint sprigs bouquet.
History
Essentially a Mojito with basil as well as mint.
This drink was found in 2004 at Excelsior Bar in Boston, USA.
