History

This easy crowd-pleaser is creamy, fruity, and only vaguely alcoholic to taste.

The Batida, which translates to 'shake', is a traditional Brazilian drink. 'Abacaxi' means pineapple in Portuguese, the official language of Brazil. Batidas are a broad category of drinks typically made with fresh fruit, sugar, and/or sweetened condensed milk (leite condensado), often blended with crushed ice or shaken and served over it.
