Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Light white rum
3/4 oz Triple sec
1/2 oz Lime juice
1/6 oz Maraschino liqueur
1/12 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of lime wedge.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

  1. 5 Garnish with lime wedge.

A Daiquiri with added triple sec and maraschino.

Adapted from Patrick Gavin Duffy's 1956 The Official Mixer's Manual, the Beachcomber is made with 1-1/2 Jiggers Light Rum, 1/2 Jigger Cointreau, the juice of 1/2 Lime, and 2 Dashes Maraschino. The preparation involves shaking with shaved ice and serving in a large cocktail glass.
