History
A potent concoction, rich in bold flavours, ideal for Chartreuse enthusiasts.
This layered drink, in the style of a pousse-café, takes its name from the French word for 'jewel.' The name is said to refer to the colors of its three ingredients, which represent the most precious jewels: diamond (gin), ruby (sweet vermouth), and emerald (Green Chartreuse). If all the ingredients are mixed, the result is a superior drink called 'Bijou #1,' also fittingly named Amber Dream because of its color. It is suggested that this layered version might not be worth the effort, and that one should instead grab a stirring glass and enjoy an Amber Dream.
