1 1/2 oz Aged rum (6-10yr)
1/3 oz Vodka
1/3 oz Coffee liqueur
1/3 oz Blue curaçao liqueur
1 1/2 oz Orange juice

Serve in a coupe glass

Method

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist (discarded) and coffee beans.
  3. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

History

The classic recipe does not include blue curaçao, with its name referencing Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and not the colour. The photo of this cocktail has a distinct blue hue, so the recipe was adapted to fit both the image and its name. The original recipe includes: 1½ shots Bacardi Carta Ocho aged rum, ½ shot Ketel One Vodka, ½ shot Coffee liqueur, 1½ shots Freshly squeezed orange juice.
