Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Gentian liqueur
1/2 oz Bianco/blanco vermouth
1/3 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
1/4 oz Pink grapefruit juice
2 dash Creole bitters
1/4 oz Egg white (pasteurised)

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of pink grapefruit zest twist (discarded) and 3 spots of Peychaud's bitters drawn through foamy head.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice and strain back into shaker.
  2. 4 DRY SHAKE (without ice).
  3. 5 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

History

Bittersweet gentian is the prevalent flavour, toned down by bianco vermouth and freshened with pink grapefruit over a vodka base. Peychaud's subtly adds its flavour.
