History
A boozy aperitivo, like a bone dry Manhattan with underlying gentian bitterness.
Created in Spring 2008 by Jim Meehan at PDT in New York City, this drink appeared on the bar's menu. Its name reflects its strength and honors boxer Joe Louis, also known as "the Brown Bomber of Detroit". Meehan's original recipe uses George Dickel No.12 Tennessee whiskey.
