History
Equal parts American whiskey, Spanish brandy, and Italian amari create a complex, spirit-forward, bittersweet Manhattan-like cocktail.
This drink was adapted from a recipe by Drew Nemetz and Billy Nichols at Simon & The Whale, Freehand Hotel, New York City, USA. The name "The Whale" refers to the location where the drink originated and is further inspired by the famous opening line of Herman Melville's 1851 novel, Moby-Dick: "Call me Ishmael."
