History

A superb after-dinner drink for brandy and Chartreuse enthusiasts. The sweet components in this sour are amplified yet offset by alcoholic strength. Perfect dilution is essential for this classic's deliciousness.

The Champs-Élysées, a variation on the Sidecar, is named after the famous Parisian avenue. The earliest known recipe for this cocktail can be found in Nina Toye and Arthur H. Adair's 1925 book, Drinks-Long and Short. CHAMPS ELYSÉES Three glasses of brandy, one glass of Chartreuse and one and a half glasses of sweetened lemon juice, put in the shaker with a dash of Angostura Bitters.
