1 1/2 oz Vodka
1 1/2 oz White port
1 dash Aromatic bitters

How to make

Serve in a coupe glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

Method

  1. 3 STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

William James "Billy" Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Bar Book attributes the creation of this drink to A. Mackintosh. The drink was originally prepared with Clubland, a brand of port, which gave the cocktail its name. CLUBLAND Invented by A. Mackintosh ½ Clubland White Port. ½ Vodka (Wolfschmidt) Dash Angostura Bitters. Stir.
