Ingredients

2 oz Light gold rum 1-3yo
1 oz Coffee liqueur
1 oz Banana liqueur
2 oz Whipping cream
1 fresh Banana

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a POCO GRANDE GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of banana chunk (cut garnish from centre of banana and place the rest in the blender to make the cocktail).

Method

  1. 3 BLEND all ingredients with 12oz scoop crushed ice.
  2. 4 POUR into chilled glass.

Garnish

  1. 5 Garnish with banana slice on rim.

Flavour profile

History

A banana milkshake enhanced with rum and coffee liqueur. The maturity of the banana is key to this cocktail; the riper, the better. Brown spots on the banana skin indicate a tastier drink. This cocktail can serve as a substantial dessert. It is recommended to divide the recipe between two 10oz Highball glasses for sharing. Alternatively, for a smaller single serving, the following half-sized recipe can be used: Dirty Banana (half-sized recipe) Glass: Highball (6oz - 10oz /18cl - 30cl) Garnish: Banana chunk on rim Method: BLEND all ingredients with half 6oz scoop crushed ice. 30ml (1oz) Light rum (mellow white/gold 1-3 year old) 15ml (½oz) Coffee liqueur 15ml (½oz) Crème de banana 30ml (1oz) Single cream/half-and-half 1/2 fresh Banana (peeled)
