Ingredients

1 oz Vodka
1/3 oz Cherry brandy
1/6 oz Grenadine syrup
1/4 oz Lemon juice
4 oz Ginger ale

How to make

Serve in a collins glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COLLINS GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of skewered lemon slice wheel and Luxardo Maraschino Cherry sail. (Skewer through either side of lemon with cherry skewered in the centre.)

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE first 4 ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 OPEN shaker and slowly POUR ginger ale over ice and other ingredients.

Garnish

  1. 5 Garnish with skewered lemon slice and cherry (sail).

History

Refreshing and fruity with mild alcohol and slight sweetness.

This is an alcoholic variation of the Shirley Temple, which itself is named after the 1930s child star, Shirley Temple. However, some suggest this cocktail is named after Shirley Jones, who portrayed Shirley Partridge in the 1970s television sitcom, The Partridge Family. Jones was also named in honor of Shirley Temple.
