History

This dry, amber, fruity cocktail delivers a pisco punch.

According to drinks historian Dave Wondrich, this cocktail was conceived for and named after a wealthy heir from a New York hardware company. This individual, described as someone "who couldn't drink grain spirits and was bored with rum", prompted the bartender to utilize pisco, a grape spirit, as the drink's foundation.
