2 oz Light gold rum 1-3yo
1/4 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
1/6 oz Lime juice

- 1 Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
- 2 Prepare garnish of mint sprig and Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.
- 3 SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
- 4 FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Constantino (Constante) Ribalaigua Vert created this drink at El Floridita in Havana, Cuba. The recipe originates from a 1937 menu from Bar Florida, which was later renamed Floridita. The name references Mario García Menocal, who held the position of president of Cuba between 1912 and 1920.
