History

Rum, coconut water, and Pedro Ximénez sherry are unusual but work well, toned by lime juice and chocolate bitters.

This cocktail, the Hungarian Bacardí Legacy 2016 winning drink, was created by Norbert Schök at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Kollázs, Budapest. Its original formulation called for Bacardi Carta Blanca rum. Travel is intrinsic to the Bacardí family's history, as well as to the golden age of Cuban cocktails. This theme of travel served as the primary motivation for the creator's journey into bartending. The coconut, another traveler able to traverse seas and oceans to establish itself in new territories, inspires the drink's concept. 'El Viajero' embodies a traveler who not only moves from place to place but also learns, explores, forms new friendships, and broadens their perspectives.
