Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Scotch whisky
2/3 oz Rioja wine
1/2 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Sugar syrup 'rich' (2:1)
3 oz Soda water

How to make

Serve in a collins glass

Prepare

  1. 1 Select and pre-chill a COLLINS GLASS.
  2. 2 Prepare garnish of orange wedge.

Method

  1. 3 SHAKE first 4 ingredients with ice.
  2. 4 STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  3. 5 TOP with soda.

History

The red wine blends harmoniously when made with a sherry-influenced scotch whisky. Whatever your Scotch, the traditional Spanish Sangria is tame in comparison.

Chivas Regal promoted a version of this drink, which was originally made with Chivas Extra 13 Sherry Cask Finish. This adaptation uses more Scotch.
